Savanna Rags, a local family-run textile recycling company, is delighted to extend our sponsorship of Mansfield Football Club's training kit until the end of the 2024-25 season. This partnership began in the summer, and it's a source of immense pride for us.
Ahmed and Yunus Suleman, the brothers behind Savanna Rags, express their satisfaction: "We are extremely proud and happy to continue our sponsorship of Mansfield Football Club. We value the Stags' positive impact on the local community and hope to maintain this relationship in the future."
Michael Bradley, Stags' commercial manager, acknowledges the faith that Savanna Rags has shown in the club by committing to a two-year sponsorship. This faith is founded on the progress both on and off the field.
Savanna Rags, established in 1994 by Ahmed and Yunus Suleman, began with 20 employees on Wood Street, Mansfield, and now employs approximately 150 individuals. By March 2023, it had become one of the leading processors and exporters of second-hand clothing in the UK, fostering partnerships with various UK Charity Organizations and Waste Recycling sites.
With an impressive weekly processing capacity of 300 tonnes, we sort and grade clothing in our 48,000-square-foot warehouse for various overseas markets, including West and East Africa, Europe, Pakistan, and the UAE.
Our commitment to environmental responsibility is unwavering, with less than 1% of the clothing processed being treated as waste. We repurpose unsuitable clothing as industrial cleaning wipers.
Savanna Rags also supports charitable causes, founding The Peaceful Trust Charity, which operates locally and internationally. We host various fundraising activities, such as charity raffles and toy drives, within our warehouse, benefiting those in need in the community.
In 2023, we faced adversity when our warehouse was destroyed by fire. The Peaceful Trust offered their support, allowing us to resume operations at a new warehouse on Maunside, Greenline Industrial Estate, Mansfield, NG18 5GU.
Despite challenges, Savanna Rags remains committed to its goals and community support, determined to move forward.
